This is a 30 contact hours course for Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

Caregivers are to balance the life of the vulnerable group especially seniors. The main role is to take care of basic needs on daily lives such as: wound care and prevent bed sores, prepare nutritious meals as well as maintain personal hygiene. Another important factor is to serve as an aid for emotional support. To better understand conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, caregivers can be better prepared to work with seniors without fear of a lack of knowledge.

The Caregiver Training Program was designed to provide a guide for instructors and learners on the competencies needed by caregivers caring for clients in a variety of settings. The goal of the program is to introduce the learner to the health care field of caregiving. This education course consists of 6 hours.

    36 HRS CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE

Defining and designing effective professional learning opportunities for educators is vital to implementing new knowledge, skills, and strategies that lead to increased learning for students. Conferences, the one or two-day professional learning planned before school, and one-shot workshops during the year are good vehicles for awareness to connect educators to the latest research and technology or introduce new knowledge and strategies. But they cannot change practice in the classroom.

Becoming trained in CPR can lead individuals to save someone's life before the emergency teams' arrival. Principles in BLS – Look, listen, and feel for effective breathing for 10 seconds – if breathing is absent, declare cardiac arrest. During training, you will be taught the Rescue breath technique, which is opening the airway using head tilt chin lift maneuver or jaw thrust. The primary skills taught in the BLS course include basic mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and CPR. Training will also include CPR for infants, children, and adults as different procedures must be taken for each group.
